Electricity Poles Erected 22 Years Ago, But No Electricity Yet | Uttar Pradesh Elections 2022

Young residents of Tiwaripur village in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district recall seeing electricity poles being erected as children. There were hopes that finally electricity would reach their village too. But despite multiple parties taking their shot at governance over the last two decades, the situation hasn't improved for them.

"Our children face a lot of problem while studying. Everyone has electricity. But the houses belonging to minorities and Dalits have been left out," said one of the residents that our Community Correspondent Harishankar spoke to.

The villagers have decided this time to boycott the Uttar Pradesh state elections and not vote if their demands - of electrification of their village and of construction of an all weather road, are not met.
